I was once told by a long serving missionary that the society changed its policy in or around the late 1940s / early 1950s because it dawned on them that missionaries going to foreign fields with dangerous diseases would need to be vaccinated. Suddenly the light became clearer and voilà! vaccinations were acceptable for them all to receive.

Past Watchtower Society Comments On Vaccines
by BluesBrother intoday there is a lot of hope placed in a vaccines to immunise against covid 19 , and relief that they are soon to be available.
that will be shared by the eight million or so jws in this world.
they should be thankful that the wts has moved away from its teaching ,that lasted for decades , proclaiming that vaccination was wrong, and a tool of satan.

Mind you it says that he's been at a two week training school. Talk about being a bare faced liar with "There's very little rules IF ANY."

Lost in the fog
A friend of ours sent us a photo of a letter allegedly from the Queen of England's suite. The JWs are all excited by it. Don't think she actually reads all of the stuff she must get sent otherwise she'd be snowed under.

I wonder how he got permission for that? And if Aled didn't get permission will he now be facing a lawsuit from the Borg!? Lol.

Is Watchtower meant to be an actual shelter from reality
by ToyFish inhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yciaw0m2-nqi'm a former member that has been out for the past few months and have been doing a lot of personal research.
i've been having mixed feelings about the gb whether or not their intentions are good or not.
the fact they have a protocol of moral lying through "theocratic warfare" very much turned me off from having anything to do with the org.

LongHairGal,
Precisely. And then they had the cheek to laugh at other religious people who believe that on death they go straight to heaven to be with their loved ones.
Whereas they are content to lying in a grave because one future day they will be downloaded from the limitless memory banks of Jehovah and plonked down in a New World, still under the regime of WT appointed men - who'll likely tell them that they can't afford to play the guitar because there's tidy-up work to do first.
Tell them all to "Do it now" before you die, because your NW future is likely to be more of the same strict rules and deprivation albeit in a nice garden setting.
And as you say there won't be any foreign countries anymore, magnificent architecture will have been vandalised by the angelic hordes at Armageddon, and the different national tongues will eventually be gone.

Atlantis.
Thank you. I received your message. ☕🍰
I had to laugh at the direction to leave certain items on the counter in case publishers wanted them for their personal use. And how are they meant to do that when the KH is closed? Lol. 😂

Pand€mi£ Contribution$
by snare&racket inhi everyone, hope all are well :).
just wondering, with all these zoom meetings and cancelled assemblies, just how the financial contribution system works in 2020?.
i obviously am wondering if it will have a huge impact on the wt org.. can someone kindly summarise how contributions are managed nowadays, both officially and anecdotally in kh's.. i was last attending around 2004, where there were x2 contribution boxes, the world wide work and kh fund.

They set up a separate page on the jw(dot)org website to let people donate electronically to them. Here's the link to prove it.

You couldn't make it up! Saw this WT quote on a friend's page. It is from the Awake magazine of 1993, March 22nd apparently. As you read it laugh and weep. The very last 4 words of the final sentence is a jaw dropper!
"Jehovah’s Witnesses, in their eagerness for Jesus’ second coming, have suggested dates that turned out to be incorrect. Because of this, some have called them false prophets. Never in these instances, however, did they presume to originate predictions ‘in the name of Jehovah.’ Never did they say, ‘These are the words of Jehovah.’ The Watchtower, the official journal of Jehovah’s Witnesses, has said: “We have not the gift of prophecy.” (January 1883, page 425) “Nor would we have our writings reverenced or regarded as infallible.” (December 15, 1896, page 306) The Watchtower has also said that the fact that some have Jehovah’s spirit “does not mean those now serving as Jehovah’s witnesses are inspired. It does not mean that the writings in this magazine The Watchtower are inspired and infallible and without mistakes.” (May 15, 1947, page 157) “The Watchtower does not claim to be inspired in its utterances, nor is it dogmatic.” (August 15, 1950, page 263)."
